As someone who is studying you'll have lots of responsibilities, deadlines, work and a social life to fit in. This can make it hard to juggle everything and keep up to date with everything that you need. Does this mean that you should drop everything and concentrate on just one area? No - instead you just need to make sure you follow a few easy tips on how to be a productive student.
Organisation
Of course it goes without saying that you need to make sure you are organised. Make sure you invest in a diary and keep a note of all of your commitments. It is also a good idea to make a note of assignments on their due date and a date around two weeks before. That way you get a reminder in plenty of time that your assignment is due and you don't have to worry about leaving it to the last minute.
Variation
With so much expected of you work wise it can be easy to think that you need to just study and forget having a social life. Actually this doesn't work most of the time because you'll feel you are missing out and you won't build friendships. Your time as a student is supposed to be enjoyable and a big part of this is having a social life. Make sure that you find a healthy balance between the two.
Attend Classes
Some of your classes will not be compulsory which means it can be tempted to skip them and just pick up notes afterwards. Generally speaking this is not the best way to learn. Try and stay motivated and attend classes where you can, you'll find this a much better way to take in and retain information which can only make your life easier in the long run.
Don't Get Distracted
Try and set times when you can study away from distractions. You probably won't be able to (or want to) do this all of the time, but you'll be surprised at just how much work you can get done in a few hours without the distractions of social media and your smart phone.
